This painting, titled “Matrix,” evokes a complex interplay of structure and chaos. It’s black and red strokes resemble an abstract grid, both rigid and fractured, suggesting a duality of order and disturbance.

The linear framework is interspersed with bleeding lines and organic forms, symbolizing the breaking and reformation of boundaries—perhaps an echo of human limitations and the relentless pursuit of knowledge.

Inspired by the myth of Prometheus, who defied the gods to bring fire to humanity, the artwork captures a similar spirit of rebellion and consequence. Prometheus’ fire represents enlightenment, creativity and defiance, yet it also brings suffering and punishment. The intense, raw lines in “Matrix” could signify both the chains that bind and the fire that frees—a reminder of the struggles inherent in human progress and the dangers that come with transcending one’s own “matrix.”

The choice of colors—black representing confinement and red symbolizing sacrifice or vitality—reinforces the theme of endurance and consequence. This work, much like Prometheus’ story, suggests that creation and destruction, knowledge and pain, are inseparable. Through its abstract language, the painting invites viewers to reflect on the dual forces that shape our existence, echoing the timeless myth of Prometheus as both a liberator and a cautionary figure.
